NOTICE TO BIDDERS HAMPTON TOWNSHIP ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA Sealed Proposals will be received by the Township of Hampton, Allegheny County, PA for the following project: Bid 1 - Tennis Court and Color Coat Improvements at Hampton Township Park. The scope of the work will involve demolition of items related to the tennis court, milling and resurfacing of the existing tennis courts, removal and replacement of the existing chain link fence, installation of a water fountain, tennis court net posts, and restoration. An alternate bid will be received for the installation of a color coat system on the tennis courts and benches. Bid 2 - ADA Access Ramp to Tennis Courts at Hampton Township Park. The scope of the work will, grading and excavation for the construction of a handicapped accessible path from the parking lot to the tennis courts, installation handrail, additional site concrete work, providing and installing handicapped parking space signs and bumper block, handicapped line striping, and restoration. Bid 3 - Basketball and Street Hockey Court Milling and resurfacing to improve the existing courts at Hampton Township Park. The scope of the work will involve the milling and resurfacing of the existing basketball and street hockey courts, removal and replacement of the existing chain link fence, basketball hoop posts, backboards, and hoops with nets, line striping, and restoration. Bid 4 -Volleyball Court at Hampton Township Park. Scope of work will involve excavation and removal of the existing bituminous surface for the construction of a sand volleyball court including net posts, out of bounds markers, and restoration. An alternate bid will be received for the milling and resurfacing of the existing bituminous surface to be used as a volleyball court. All proposals must be in the hands of the Township Manager, Hampton Township, 3101 McCully Road, Allison Park, PA 15101 before 10:00 a.m. prevailing time on Tuesday January 7, 2014 and the same will be publicly opened and read at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time the same day at the Township Municipal Offices, Council Meeting Room. The contract will possibly be awarded on January 22, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside with the words "Bid 1 - Tennis Court and Color Court Improvements", "Bid 2- ADA Access Ramp to Tennis Court", "Bid 3 - Basketball and Street Hockey Court Milling and Resurfacing", or "Bid 4 - Volleyball Court" .The proper title for the bid is dependent upon the bid that is submitted. All bids must be submitted in separate envelopes with the proper designation. Copies of Drawings, Specifications, Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Forms of Proposals and Agreement are on file and open to public inspection at the office of The Gateway Engineers, Inc., 400 Holiday Drive, Suite 300, Pittsburgh, PA 15220 where sets of said documents may be obtained upon payment of $50.00 per set. No refund will be made for the return of any documents. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman's Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wages apply to this project. Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder's Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of Hampton Township in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within 15 days after Notice of the Award of the Contract. If more time is necessary for the ascertainment of the lowest responsible bidder, Hampton Township reserves the right to award the contract at a later date, but not exceeding sixty (60) days from the date bids were submitted, and such date will be publicly announced by Council at their regular meeting held on January 22, 2014 BY: W.
