ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The McKeesport Housing Authority will receive sealed bids, in duplicate, until September 13, 2018, 10:00 A.M. prevailing time, at the offices of the McKeesport Housing Authority, 2901 Brownlee Avenue, McKeesport, Pennsylvania 15132. Bids received after 10:00 A.M. will not be accepted. Bids will be opened and publicly read at that time at the location above. Bids will be received for General Construction. Sleighter, LLC, 1060 Eberly Way, Lemont Furnace, PA 15456 Phone: 724-438-4010 Fax: 724-438-4017 Description of Work: The Scope of work for this project includes removal and installation of new asphalt shingles, felt paper, ridge vent, drip edge and accessories on 19 buildings. Work also includes perimeter ice guard installation, new flashing for plumbing stacks in the roof, and painting of existing stacks. In addition removal and replacement of all gutters, gutter apron and downspouts, cleaning and incidental repairs of all soffit & fascia, and replacement of basement access doors is included in this project. Proposed forms of contract documents, including Plans and Specifications are on file and may be examined at the offices of the McKeesport Housing Authority, Pittsburgh Builders Exchange, McGraw-Hill and the Engineer's office. Contractors may purchase one copy of the documents from the Architect by submitting $85.00 in the form of a check made payable to R.W. Sleighter, LLC. If the drawings and specifications are mailed there is an additional $35.00 non-refundable handling fee made payable to R.W. Sleighter, LLC. Additional full sets may be purchased by a check in the same amount, or portions of sets may be purchased at a cost of $3.00 per drawing sheet and $0.25 per specification sheet. Price of these plans is non-refundable. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier's check payable to the McKeesport Housing Authority in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount. All prospective bidders are urged to physically visit the site to see the work in question. Envelopes containing bids shall be sealed and clearly marked Sealed Bid with the Project Title, and Contract Number and Date and Time for receipt of bids. A pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the McKeesport Housing Authority, 2901 Brownlee Avenue, McKeesport. Owner and Engineer will conduct the meeting and be available to answer questions and make clarifications. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is strongly recommended. The McKeesport Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening without the consent of the Authority. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin or age. In addition, the Contract will be under the requirements of Executive Order #11625 relative to new goals and timetables and Section III of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and where applicable.
